Uttarakhand Police organised a talk as a part of their Drive Against Drug Abuse at the GRD IMT Campus, Dehradun on 21st December, 2016. The camp was conducted in order to make the students aware of the dangers of Narcotic Drugs and Substance Abuse. Dehradun Police organizes such camps in the leading colleges of Dehradun under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The Police officials addressed the students and made them aware of the dangers of drug addiction.The Chairman of GRD Group and the directors of GRD IMT also warned the students about the fallouts of this social curse.
The first camp was conducted on 1st August, 2016 at GRD Academy, Niranjanpur, where the Police Officials, Hon’ble Sardar Raja Singh and Director (Admin.) Ms. Lata Gupta and the School Principal addressed a huge gathering of the students.
The students were also educated about the importance Fundamental Duties and the government provided and aided rehabilitation and medical facilities to cope up with the fallouts of drug abuse.
The objective of the project is to make students understand the impact drug menace on the society and the harm it can cause to the development of the nation. The Chairman of GRD Group motivated the group of students and urged them to contribute to the development of the nation.
The Dehradun Police Department has been zealously conducting awareness camps against drug abuse in the local schools and colleges in and around dehradun. The students, teachers and the public welcomed the initiative of City Police with great enthusiasm.
