OUR AIM

GRD aims at spearheading research and innovation in emerging areas of Electrical Engineering and to create an enabling environment to train innovative, capable and highly motivated intellectual manpower to meet India’s technological needs in close partnership with the industry.

Objectives

  1. To impart world class value based technical education in all aspects of Computer Science and Engineering through state of the art infrastructure and innovative approach.
  2. To produce ethical, motivated and skilled engineers through theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
  3. To inculcate ability for tackling simple to complex problems individually aswell asin a team.
  4. To develop globally competent engineers with strong foundations, capable of “out of the box” thinking so asto adapt to the rapidly changing scenarios requiring socially conscious green computing solutions.

Scope & Employability

The Department of Electrical Engineering has great potential for training the students matching to the need of ever growing electrical industries.
This course is at par with changing technology and enables the students to easily manage multifarious industrial activities making them nicely employable.
The Department provides excellent experimental facilities to students with highly qualified faculty, guest professors, laboratories and seminars.

Duration of the Programme:

Three years (Six Semesters)

Eligibility:

For First year–10th with Science and Mathematics (Not the elementary mathematics) or equivalent as prescribed by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee.
For Lateral Entry-12th with PCM or equivalent as prescribed by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee.

Generic Skill Development:

It is proposed that two Camps of 3-4 days duration on generic Skills Development(GSD) during 5th and 6th Semester be organized by arranging expert lectures/ discussion sessions either by Polytechnic teacher or by eminent educationists from the neighborhood to deal with topics like: Independent Study Techniques, Task Management, Ethics and Values, Personality Development, SWOT Analysis, Action research etc.
Industrial Exposure:

The Student will be exposed to industrial by organizing industrial visits and expert lectures by personnel from industry. The suggested industry oriented-practice based minor and major projects will enable the students to interact with relevant industries.

Personality Development:

25 marks per semester have been kept for games, hobby clubs, seminars, declamation contests, extension lectures, NCC, NSS and cultural activities etc.
